Girls Raising presentations are a unique series of events that help women founders get publicity, network with like-minded entrepreneurs, and meet influential women (and men) who can move their businesses forward.
If you haven’t attended, here is what you are in for:
5 pre-selected startups present their idea to a female panel consisting of two VC's or Angels and two successful startup founders. Two minutes of QA and two minutes of actionable feedback follow each pitch.
Congratulations to the following Founders and Companies that have been selected to pitch
Jules Miller- Hire an Esquire
Anne Kroijer - On Frontier
Tina Gong- Happy
Lissa Moses Johnson- Mosa Mack
Lidia Yadlos - Styling On
Girls Raising presentations support, educate and encourage female entrepreneurs. We help them build the confidence and network necessary when raising a seed round of funding. Our events are an opportunity for guests to preview some of the great companies being built by women and to hear from some of the most successful and influential women of our time.
Girls Raising is a network based on quality over quantity. It is a small private event with a limited number of tickets in order to maintain a productive networking atmosphere.

Carly Zakin
Founder, The Skimm
Carly is the Founder of the Skimm, the daily e-mail newsletter that gives you everything you need to start your day.
Carly fell in love with news at an early age when she became addicted to the Today Show at age 5 (not their target demo). She started interning in publishing in high school and knew from day one she wanted to make a living out of storytelling. While studying at the University of Pennsylvania, she began interning for NBC News. After graduating, she began work for CNBC's primetime development division and went on to produce MSNBC news documentaries both in New York and DC.
From breaking news and writing for the political unit, to personal finance and documentaries on the Kennedy family, and interviewing Tom Brokaw on the Berlin Wall, she has made a career out of sharing stories.
Carly is a New York native and to top it all off makes a mean chocolate soufflé.
Kellee Khalil
Founder, Lover.ly
Kellee is the founder of Lover.ly’s, a one-stop-shop for wedding planning where brides and grooms find ideas, people to hire and things to buy.
Kellee started the company after realizing firsthand the inefficiencies of the wedding industry.
She moved to NYC, invested her post-grad savings and launched Lover.ly in February of 2012.
Prior to founding Lover.ly, Kellee ran Business Development at Be Inspired PR, the leading PR firm servicing the luxury wedding market. Kellee brings a high level of leadership, vision, and a strong understanding of the tech industry, while providing the team with instrumental enthusiasm and support.
Kellee has a BA in Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Southern California
